Seven places, and what happened in each

HISCUS works in a small number of communities repeatedly rather than in many communities once. These are the places its own reporting names. Nothing is extrapolated from a single visit.

Depth before spread

In Bethanchowk, HISCUS supported the health post in January 2025, ran a women’s session in the same community four weeks later, and finished a water tank there that July. Three kinds of work, one community, nine months.

That is the pattern rather than the exception. Infrastructure that arrives once and leaves rarely survives its first repair; infrastructure planned alongside the health post and the women’s sessions belongs to people with a reason to maintain it.

HISCUS does not claim nationwide coverage. Where a completion year is not published, this page says so rather than estimating one.

    The clearest example of how HISCUS works: three different kinds of support in the same community inside nine months, ending with infrastructure the community maintains itself.

    Home to the Sarangkot Nestling Home, HISCUS's longest continuous commitment, alongside the access infrastructure the village asked for.
