Safeguarding

Safeguarding

The formal policy is in preparation. What follows describes how this website already handles imagery and personal information. It is a description of current practice, not a substitute for the policy.

Policy status

HISCUS has not yet published an approved safeguarding policy. Rather than publish invented policy language, this page states the position honestly and describes the practice already applied to this site. The approved policy will replace this text.

Children and young people

No child at the Sarangkot Nestling Home is named on this website. No personal history, family circumstance or identifying detail about any child is published. Where earlier HISCUS material contained such detail, it has not been carried over.

Photographs showing identifiable children are published only where HISCUS confirms they are cleared for public website use. Images in the media manifest that show identifiable children are flagged for that confirmation before launch.

Photography and consent

Photographs on this site are documentary images from HISCUS programmes. None has been AI-generated, recoloured, distorted or otherwise altered beyond resizing and cropping.

Alt text describes what is visible in a frame. Where a project, place, date or photographer credit is not published by HISCUS, it is left blank rather than guessed.

Volunteers and contact with children

Volunteer roles involving contact with children carry additional requirements. Until the formal policy is published, those requirements are set out directly with each volunteer before a placement is agreed.

Raising a concern

Anyone with a safeguarding concern about HISCUS activity can raise it through the contact form. A named safeguarding contact and a direct reporting route will be published alongside the approved policy.
